What is it about rock formations that draws my heart to God? Perhaps it’s the magnificence of the display—the knowledge that a mighty God formed each peak and crevice. As my husband and I quietly stood and gazed over the Red Rocks of Sedona, Arizona, our souls were drawn to worship.
The beauty before us stood in silent testimony of the Anchor of Our Souls and the Rock of Our Salvation. And we were reminded of how our greatest desire was to maintain a steadfast integrity in our faith walk. This was also our most urgent prayer over our children and grandchildren.
Oh, that our children will walk in truth and integrity!
We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.
It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain.
• Hebrews 6:19 •
The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer;
my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge,
my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold
• Psalm 18:2 •
Father, we pray for a genuine depth of integrity in our children. As parents, may we model lives of standing on the firm foundation of Your Word. May our precious ones remain steadfast and refuse to compromise on the precepts You have given.
Oh, Father, may they remain true to You! And when they fall, may repentance come quickly—and they are driven to their knees in sincere sorrow, seeking restoration.
Please use our children in mighty ways to further Your Kingdom and to glorify Your Name. Thank you, Jesus.
